GTHA is proud to announce that President & CEO Sara Anghel has been elected to the 2026 Board of Directors of the International Society of Hotel Associations (ISHA). As the only non-U.S. board member, she brings an important Canadian and international perspective to ISHA's leadership.

In this new role, Anghel will work alongside state association leaders from across the United States to support ISHA's focus on advocacy, membership growth, and association best practices. Her appointment underscores the strength and sophistication of Greater Toronto's hotel sector and reflects GTHA's growing voice on continental hospitality issues.
Representing Canada on the ISHA Board, Anghel will help ensure that the priorities of urban destination markets like Toronto, Mississauga, Vaughan, Markham, Brampton and others are included in broader industry discussions on policy, workforce, and competitiveness. GTHA members will benefit from enhanced access to ISHA insights, resources, and partnerships as she contributes to shaping ISHA's programs and strategic direction for 2026.
